Jewellery Care

Plated and sterling jewellery both last considerably longer with a little care. These are general guidelines that apply across our collection.

Everyday habits

• Last on, first off. Put jewellery on after perfume, hairspray, lotion and sunscreen, and take it off before you undress.
• Keep it dry. Remove pieces before showering, swimming or exercising. Chlorine, salt water and sweat all shorten the life of plating.
• Avoid chemicals. Household cleaners, bleach and alcohol-based products damage both plating and pearl.

By material

S925 sterling silver. Sterling tarnishes naturally with exposure to air. Polish gently with a soft dry cloth. Store in a closed box or pouch to slow tarnishing.

Gold-plated alloy. Plating is a surface layer. Do not use polishing cloths, silver dip or abrasives — they remove it. Wipe with a soft dry cloth only.

Freshwater pearl. Pearls are porous and soft. Never soak them. Wipe with a slightly damp soft cloth after wearing and let them dry fully before storing. Store separately so harder stones cannot scratch them.

Moissanite and zircon. Clean with a soft cloth. If a setting feels loose, stop wearing the piece and contact us.

Storage

Store pieces separately rather than loose together in one box — chains tangle and harder stones scratch softer metals and pearls. Keep them somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight.
